Chess is like Life | Mapping Blundertown

I sat down again and played until the position was real. This is that second sitting.

Chess is like life. Mapping Blundertown. Every blunder has an address. Learn the streets.

1.e4 g5. The Borg. White trades the light bishop for a knight and a pawn. Fair enough. But one black pawn is already on the move.

6…cxd4. 7…dxc3. It took a pawn, then a knight. Two moves later it takes again, with check from the queen on a5.

r3k1nr/pp1bppbp/8/q3P1p1/3B4/8/PpP2PPP/R2QK1NR w KQkq – 0 10

9…cxb2+. The check is not from the pawn. It is from the queen on a5, now that the pawn has left c3. White blocks. Now look at the pawn on b2. Where is it going, and what is sitting there?

Black’s bishop takes on e5. White trades it off and the queen takes back with check. White blocks with the queen. The pawn finishes the trip.

r3k1nr/pp1bpp1p/8/4q1p1/8/2P5/P3QPPP/q3K1NR w Kkq – 0 13

12…bxa1=Q+. c5, d4, c3, b2, a1. One pawn took a pawn, a knight, a pawn and a rook, and became a queen with check. White has one legal move, Kd2. The game ends there, 0-1.

Blundertown is not one bad move. It is four small ones on the same road. Draw the map before you drive.

I wish you the best of luck!!
