The Daily Grind: What’s New

Welcome to Coffee For Dessert

Put on a fresh pot!

My name is Chad Ambrose. I am the founder of Coffee For Dessert and The Chess Zone. I began this adventure on a calm night in February 2017 with the hopes of getting some ideas written down. Nothing more, nothing less. I just needed a place to grow and share my ideas — CoffeeForDessert seemed appropriate. As I combed through the countless essays that I had hoped my professors had archived during my academic career, it dawned on me to shine up my old work for public eyes.

Ultimately, the best way any individual can improve the internet, is by building a great brand that reflects their own dreams and ideals.

And so, since I also have been especially captivated with the study of Chess; I wanted to find a larger audience for my hobby.. After a few searches online, it became clear that my brand was missing: The Chess Zone.

Everyone is familiar with “the Zone” lately, and upon deep reflection, I realize that my proudest accomplishments all grew out from “the Zone” — when I play my best chess games, “the Zone” allowed for the focused energy to transcend my mind. It may sound like meta-physical woo-woo crystal-chakra nonsense at first, but I mean this very literally

— Find Your Zone..Live In It..Then Thrive —

As I searched for the proper chess club to cultivate my chess skills, it did not exist. That’s not to say that excellent chess clubs don’t exist here in Austin. But where’s the good music, and the dance floor energy, and the warm lighting, ah there’s the word: ambiance — yes, where is the Chess Club with the right ‘ambiance’ for Coach Chad to shine..

..and so with a very real dream in mind, a dream with an ambiance of its own; a dream that feels like breezy a summer night; a steamy coffeeshop; stage-front concert seats; and high-stakes poker table; all rolled into one — The Chess Zone comes to life!

Follow The Chess Zone on Instagram to keep your feed sharp while you scroll. New puzzlers are shared daily, featuring some beautiful combinations, played by yours truly, Coach Chad — leave a comment if any of my posts can stump ya!

That’s all for now folks, is your coffee still hot?

Do you remember how to setup a chessboard? Nowadays, all you need is a phone or computer, let’s play!

As I continue along this blogging adventure, I am 26 years old, working 9 to 5, and searching for more truth, more patience, and more enlightenment. As I learn, so might you.

Follow along on this journey through life. Check out my various short stories, essay excerpts, and philosophical reflections. Shoot me a comment if you have any questions yet to be answered.

In 2018, I stretched my creative skills to share new stories with you all. I also began Coaching Chess for The Knight School in Austin, TX. Helping children to develop a passion for problem solving is immensely gratifying.

In 2019, I am expanding my creative content into realms of audio and video to complement my writings. Check out my video “Plant Life” over on my Youtube channel.

Unfortunately, I can’t coach chess all day long.

The internet is a wonderful tool, and I am intent on providing valuable online experiences. Click the options button at the top right corner to find all of my available content.
