Black had no business winning any tactics in this game after giving away the dark square bishop with 6. ..Bxd4 | yet black never gave up and forced all of the pieces to be involved in the recovery effort. With many pawns available for an eventual end game, white was able to proceed casually through the middle game with bias towards exchanging major pieces | explore the transition to end game with a drawish blunder by white with 20. Re7?? –which was completely missed..Black failed to recover the free piece (20. ..Qxe7!)..instead black opted for a dubious desperado tactic 20. ..Bxb3?! — white continues to casually exchange and takes the free bait 21. cxb3?? – huge mistake – this allows black to complete the desperado and force repeating checks after removing white’s queenside pawn structure with 21. ..Rxb3+ and then the Queen can perpetually check on b3-a3-c3 — but the result was no draw…black senses a potential mating net if white doesn’t attack accurately and so after 26. Kb1 Kg7? — white should be finishing the game in 4 moves. However, they missed a key moment, and hunted pawns — after 28. Rxh7 , black could resume perpetual check on b3-a3-c3 , but chose instead to test the defense of white with interesting idea 28. ..Rb8+?! — at this point white must sacrifice the queen on b7 to survive with 2R+B vs Q , but they immediately touched their king in check, with only one legal space, black wins with mate in 1, 29. Qb2#, last blunder loses!
